Our hugely popular summer school is back for the entire month of August. New pupils are welcome, they do not need to be current June Rendell students. Weeks 1 and 3 will be to the story and soundtrack of The Lion King. Weeks 2 and 4 will be to the story and soundtrack of The Wiz Live! There will be classes in ... Ballet • Tap • Modern • Street • Drama • Singing • Musical Theatre Each Friday, children will put on an early evening performance showing what they have learnt throughout the week (local venue TBC). All classes will be lead by a qualified dance teacher and a teaching assistant. All teachers are DBS checked, qualified in their field and have completed an infection prevention and control course. Summer School for children aged 7-9 is £135 per week , with reductions in price for siblings, early bookings or multiple week bookings.
Camp notes
• Children must bring their own packed lunch.
• We open at 08:30 for early drop off and close at 16:30 for late pick up (free of charge). However classes do not start until 09:00 and they finish at 16:00, therefore children can be dropped off later and picked up earlier than our opening times.
• Children should wear dancewear or leggings/trousers and a t-shirt to summer school.
• Children will need ballet shoes or jazz shoes and tap shoes, we have these shoes for sale in secondhand (please let us know sizes prior to attendance). These can be bought for as little as £3.00-4.00 each.
• Children should wear all black dancewear or leggings/trousers and a t-shirt for the Friday performance.
• Although we encourage all children to take part in the early evening performance, it is not compulsory. Please let us know if your child will not be taking part in the show.
• On the Friday, children are to be collected at the earlier time of 15:00 and then are to be dropped off at the show venue for 16:45 for a dress rehearsal (parents should wait in the car park or go and come back).
• It's £2.00 per person to watch the performance, all family and friends are welcome (cash only).
• Show time approximately 18:00 - 19:30.
In the unavoidable event that summer school is cancelled due to bad weather, infectious diseases including viral outbreaks, government lockdown or isolations etc. - refunds will be given. However, for all refunds there will be a 10% administration charge deducted. A refund request form should be completed, please see our website.
